Wire-tapping devices installed on a telephone
The radio transmitter (wire-tapping system) starts working when the handset is picked up, sending information to a distance of up to 50m. The installation was carried out when the original telephone was exchanged for another one already tapped.
Wire-tapping devices installed on the fixed line network
This wire-tapping device equipped with a miniature transformer to reduce voltage sends information via a radio signal.
The device modulates the information on a frequency of 50 Hz of the electrical network. On that phase, the listening can be transmitted to a distance of 300m. The transmitter works continuously thanks to the power sucked from the network and can not be detected by standard defensive technical methods (undetectable wire-tapping).
Cameras installed in light fixtures (eavesdropping with images).
An eavesdropping camera with microphone was installed in the light fixture. The camera, with a pinhole lens and a resolution of 380 TV lines, was able to cover virtually the entire room, despite being in a whole of only 1.5mm in diameter. The information was sent with a cable to the room next door, where it was recorded in low-speed video. It was also powered from the room next door.
